NAES is the power generation industry’s largest independent services provider, dedicated to optimizing the performance of energy facilities worldwide and responsible for managing more than 50,000 MW of generation. With its subsidiary, Bay4 Energy, NAES operates more than 1,000 MW of Photovoltaic and Battery Energy storage across 500+ sites in the United States.
This internship will be in the System Analytics and Field Engineering groups. Interns will be working with engineering staff who are engaged in ongoing projects in these groups. Typical projects include
- PV plant performance modeling and forecasting (PVsyst, Python, Excel)
- One-off performance analysis investigation to address Asset Manager questions (Excel or Python)
- Creating and updating systems to produce monthly reports (Python, SQL)
- Maintaining and improving PV plant monitoring processes (Python)
- Conduct Quality Assurance inspections of PV projects under construction
- Field Engineering to support troubleshooting, equipment testing and RCA investigations
- Engineering to support PV plant improvements such as inverter retrofits or SCADA upgrades
Key Internship Requirements:
- Must able to work outside in summer heat OR have experience with computer programming
Preferred Experience:
- Experience or interest in Data Acquisition Systems (DAS), Ethernet or Serial communication
- Experience with Python
- Familiarity with hand tools
- Available to travel to visit PV projects outside the state of Arizona.
