Greg Ogden

Principal Investigator
Research Professor, Department of Chemical & Environmental Engineering

Dr. Greg Ogden has over 30 years experience in process design, facility management, environmental remediation and novel technology development. He is the Manager and Founder of Ogden Engineering & Associates, LLC and has served as the project manager multiple SBIR/STTR Phase I and Phase II projects involving the development of a hypergolic green fuels, evaluating their insensitive munitions (IM) characteristics, converting crop seed oils to jet fuel and designing high-temperature, high-pressure reactors for characterizing thermal decomposition of concentrated hydrogen peroxide. Dr. Ogden has extensive high-temperature design and fabrication experience. Dr. Ogden currently serves as the Unit Operations Laboratory Director overseeing upgrading and maintaining undergraduate experiments for the Department of chemical & Environmental Engineering. He mentors capstone engineering design teams and owns a technology company involved with developing green propellants, autonomous sensors and renewable fuels. Current space related research projects include design, fabrication and testing of a lightweight reusable upper stage rocket.

Dr. Ogden has worked at both Pima Community College and The University of Arizona.  He believes that good communication between technicians and engineers promotes teamwork and improves project outcomes.
